The Aqua Theater had dancing water and diving shows…all the entertainment had olympic stars in them…

The ship boasted a skating rink…The Ugly Duckling was performed…

On the last day all the performers were in a “Lollapalooza Parade” down the center of the Royal Promenade Deck…

At the end of the parade, streamers dropped down from the ceiling…

Needless to say this ship was one BIG cruise ship…the next 3 pictures show three sections of the ship…

View from the plane going home…

We really didn’t know what to expect of this tiny country…it is supposed to be one of the poorest countries….but it was really pretty…

This little group entertained us as we came ashore…

Here you can see the zip lines above the water…

This house was owned by some of the “richer” folks… ![]()

A lot of people rented the jet ski….they went around the island on these…there were a lot of them !!

Cruising on the Largest Ship Afloat !! Part 5
5 01 2010We arrived in Haiti early in the morning…we were greeted by a beautiful sunrise over the mountains…

We docked in Labadee, Haiti….

The natives from Haiti greeted us with a native dance and song…

We took a water tour in Labadee and saw this…the tour guide said this was a motel of sorts !! Can you imagine ?? The picture below was of a small village we passed…the houses seemed to be of a poor class of people…but notice the satellite dishes ???

How’s this for a patchwork sail ?? ![]()

This little taxi boat came by….the guys aboard all waved and hollared at us…they seemed to be really happy…we called this “The Haitian Cruise Boat” ![]()

These Taxi boats were everywhere…

This was a zip line that stretched from the mountain across the ocean to this end…it had 5 lines…

This deck had a little bit of everything…

Jimmy thought this car was cool….

This would actually rise in the air and go to the next floor..underneath would be a display of fountains and lights…they served drinks on this…

The Cupcake Shop…

This was the entrance to one of the main dining rooms…

View from the back of the ship…

Cruising on the Largest Ship Afloat !! Part 1
15 12 2009Jimmy and I went cruising on the largest ship afloat…the Oasis of the Seas. The ship was HUGE and boasted 16 decks, 24 restaurants, and 24 glass elevators. It was really something to see..a city within a cruise ship !! It was almost unbelievable what they had on this ship…I will post only a portion of what we saw…this ship took us to Haiti, which was a mountainous and jungle-like country…we enjoyed the first cruise to be taken on this awesome ship…

We flew to Fort Lauderdale and saw some expensive cabin cruisers…

The Oasis of the Seas

We were greeted by a flying sign as we got on the ship…how neat is that ?? ![]()

The fire boat also gave us a send-off….

The twilight was beautiful as we prepared to sail away….

There were balcony rooms on the outside and inside of the ship..we opted for the outside so we could see the ocean…

The flowers were compliments of my babe….. ![]()

Central Park

Can you imagine real flowers and trees on the inside of a ship…there was lots of foliage !

Part 2 coming soon….

Switzerland~~Part 6
8 11 2009
The flowers definitely liked the cool weather…

This was the restaurant we ate at…..

There were vineyards in some of the yards…

There were many tunnels thru the mountains…some were very long…seemed like every few miles we had to go thru one….

This is what we encountered on the road…the farmers were leading their cows back down from the mountains home…notice the HUGE bells around their necks..they wear these so their owners will be able to find them on the mountains…they made really loud ringing noises…I can just imagine the cows were really tired after wearing these !! ![]()

The bell on this one was a round bell…still large…sorry the picture wasn’t any better, but we were on the bus and had to snap a quick picture as they went by…
Notice the attire of the farmer…they were all dressed in their alpine finery…sometimes they put garlands of flowers on the cows heads !!

We went to the tiny principality of Liechtenstein…

Atop this mountain was the home of the prince of this tiny country…

This is where the movie, “Heidi”, was filmed…

Flying over London…

We flew over Greenland…it looked like the mountain peaks were peaking thru the snow and ice…it looked like a strange moonscape !!

This is the last that I will be posting of Switzerland…the next picture shows how the country influences you after you have been there a week !!

Switzerland~~Part 5
3 11 2009

You were able to view the snow capped peaks of the neighboring countries on top of the mountain.

Down we go to the bottom of the mountain…

We arrived back in Zurich late and opted for McDonald’s…we ordered 2 Big Mac meals and paid $23.00 for this !! Food here was out of sight !! A drink..coke products, water or coffee were $5.00 each !!! ![]()

Friday we went on the Heidiland tour….

Lucerne

Can you believe it ?? These were begonias….

The Lion Monument, in Lucerne, depicting the loss of lives in World War 11

A lot of the chalets had window boxes with geraniums planted in them…we were told that these would keep the flies and mosquitos away…nifty I thought !! ![]()

We went thru Rapperswil again and had lunch here…

Part 6 coming…

Switzerland~~Part 4
31 10 2009On Thursday we took a tour of Jungfraujoch~top of Europe. We took a cogwheel train to Europe’s highest railway station.

Up we go…we had the best tour guide…he was always wanting to take pictures of us with the backgrounds…..

We changed trains about half way up and continued to the top…

The trains were run on these cogs…

We arrived at the top and had a view of things to come !!!

How’s this for a scene ???

We went thru the Ice Palace, another glacier room. …the mountains here had a lot of glaciers.

They had ice carvings inside the glacier …carved from the glacier itself…

Part 5 next….
